Never again

We arrived safely in Israel, which is the important thing I guess… We flew with IsraAir, an Israeli charter company, something like RyanAir or Easyjet, but without the really low prices.

The plane stunk of urine from the toilets. This bothered Karina more than me of course, considering that I have no sense of smell (The only good thing to come out of my 13 years of smoking). The was virtually mo leg room, which is pretty standard on charter flights, but when I, a pretty tall guy, asked for a aisle seat, I was told that they don’t give aisle seats to couples, because then they would be left with all the window seats! The food was probably the only redeeming feature of the flight, because we got a little tub of Humus and a pita.

On the subject of food, the airport duty-free area closed more or less after we checked in. We were one of the first people to check in, so we at least got to look around, but after a few minutes we decided to go eat something and found that all the food places were closed. They didn’t even keep a single sandwich place open, so I had to suffer 8 hours of hunger with just airplane food to look forward to, thank god parts of it were edible.

Back to IsraAir, I guess it’s just the lack of professionalism that bothers me. For example the air hosts wore jeans! Not that I have a problem with casual wear, I don’t wear suits to work, but then I’m not in a service industry, they are. I don’t know, I think I have just gotten used to expecting a certain things when I pay hundreds of dollars, if they are trying to make air flying like bus rides, then charge bus like prices.

Your comment system is cool.

I usually end up with delayed flights and stuff. I get to the airport 2 hours early(not flying out of the country), and hit a bar, have a drink, relax, do some reading or geek it up..

But what I really hate is the knee situation for tall people on planes. My knees always hit the seat in front of me, no matter how far back I try to sit - the whole affair is completely uncomfortable.

I've learned 2 things in flying over the years:
1) Get a seat at least 10 seats away from the toilets..
2) If you have alcohol on the plane, have some water later..
