Camera

So I have my heart set on a Nikon D70. And then Allan Bailward comes along and evangelises the Pentax *ist-D.

So now I dunno what to buy :(

Damn that Alan guy! Geez!

My $0.02 would be as follows:

- if you already have canon, nikon, or pentax lenses that are good or costly, then your choices are relatively clear. Remember that a camera is just what you strap to your lenses :)
- if not, compare your budget with what feels good in your hands... hand size does seem to play a factor.
- I think that the capabilities for "normal" photogs are pretty much the same. The d70 has a much better continuous shooting mode over the drebel or the *ist, but unless you're going to use this remember it's just another feature that is there that you may or may not use.
- investigate what you think is a good system to buy into as well. buddy of mine went with the drebel because in his opinion canon was good, a leader and had lots of good lenses. you may have similar feelings about nikon/pentax, etc
- most important is to shoot, shoot shoot, shoot with whatever you get and enjoy it!

Let me know what you get and we can meet up sometime and compare cameras (almost said 'bodies' there for a second!). I'm out in abby and from the looks of it you're in vancouver... if you end up with the nikon I'd love to see it in action!
